Tasmania Police wish to advise motorists of road closures for the annual Toy Run on Saturday 4 December 2010. Motorists going to weddings or other appointments that require travel on or across the Brooker Highway, east to west on the Tasman Bridge, Macquarie Street and through the Hobart CBD will be affected and alternative arrangements or times should be made.

The event will commence at 2.30pm at the Derwent Entertainment Centre, Glenorchy and conclude at 3.30pm at Salamanca, Hobart.

The temporary closing of the following streets to facilitate this event:

• Brooker Highway between the Berridale on-ramp to Davey Street (south bound only). The Berridale on ramp will commence closures at 2pm.
• Davey Street between Tasman Highway and Murray Street.
• The waterfront area bordered by Davey Street, Salamanca Place and Elizabeth Street.

Vehicular and pedestrian traffic wanting to travel on or cross the route will be affected. The road closures will occur only when rally participants are on or approaching that section of roadway. Police will be in attendance to manage traffic and will stop or direct traffic away from the event route. Motorists can expect traffic clearance to take up to half an hour after the finishing time.
