Police wish to advise motorists and pedestrians in the Northwest Coast areas of Penguin, Gunns Plains and Ulverstone that the Tour of Tasmania Cycling Event is taking place in those areas today.  Motorists can expect to see a heavy presence of cyclists, support staff and police in the area during the event.

Motorists can expect to be required to be stopped and remain stationary for 15 minutes should they be travelling through the areas at the time of the events.  This is paramount to ensure the safety of all involved.  Please do not ignore this direction.

The racing will take place between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm and will include numerous roads in the mentioned areas.  The roads that will be impacted by the race include:

Main Road, Penguin, Penguin Road, Queen Street, Ulverstone, Hobbs Parade, Kings Parade, Lovett Street, Gawler Road, Preston Road, Gunns Plains Road, South Riana Road, Pine Road, Creamery Road, Penguin and Preservation Drive.
