Three charged with a series of crimes committed in Ambleside and Devonport
Devonport Police yesterday arrested three people in connection to a series of crimes in the Devonport area in the past week.
The crimes relate to a number of stolen motor vehicles, motor vehicle burglaries, burglaries of out buildings at residences and the burglary of a residence.
Police successfully resolved these matters after assistance from members of the public lead to identification of the offenders and recovery of the stolen motor vehicles.
Detective Sergeant Bishop of Devonport CIB said “a number of the vehicles broken into, along with a number of the out buildings entered, were unlocked at the time of the offence. I would like to encourage everyone to lock both their vehicles and out buildings as it is a deterrent to criminals when assessing whether to break into the vehicle or building.”
The majority of property stolen by the offenders has been recovered by Police and will be returned to its owners.
Police have charged a 13-year-old male youth and 15-year-old female youth with a number of offences and they have been bailed to appear at a later date.
An 18-year-old male has been charged with numerous offences and has been held to appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court.
