Three charged over fire
On Wednesday evening Devonport Uniform and Detectives from Western Criminal Investigation Branch were called to attend a fire in an area containing a large rubbish/skip, wheelie bin in an alleyway belonging to The Reject Shop in Stewart Street, Devonport. The bin has been completely destroyed and some damage has been done to the surrounding structure. The Tasmanian Fire Service was in attendance and extinguished the blaze.
Information from members of the public led to the interview and arrest of three male youth offenders.
The male youths, aged 14 years, 14 years and 13 years were charged with unlawfully setting fire to property. All three will be dealt with in accordance with the Youth Justice Act.
