Theft of Poppy Heads – Western and Southern Tasmania

Over the past two days the theft of a number of poppy heads has been identified at Moriarty and Wesley Vale in the Western region of Tasmania; and from Glenora in the Southern region.

Police are concerned that if consumed these poppies may cause serious illness or death.

Thefts of poppy heads are treated seriously by Tasmania Police due to the potential health related implications for anyone who ingests or uses poppy related products.
