Officers from Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the theft of 14 firearms from a private residence at Elwick Road, Glenorchy.

These firearms were stored correctly as required under the Firearms Act.

Glenorchy CIB is seeking information from the public; we are interested in any suspicious activity in the area during Friday 13 December to mid morning Sunday 15 December 2013 on Elwick Road, between the intersections of Grove Road and the railway line.

Any theft of firearms is very concerning for Police and we place a high priority on investigating these. We are doing everything we can to investigate this matter to apprehend those responsible and recover the stolen firearms.
