Tasmanian man to be extradited from QLD to face drug trafficking and firearms charges
As part of a Tasmania Police operation, a Tasmanian man based in Queensland was arrested today and will be extradited to Tasmania on Wednesday to face drug trafficking and firearms charges.
Officers from Tasmania Police’s Drug Investigation Services travelled to Queensland and with the assistance of the Queensland Police Service, arrested the 29-year-old man at a Queensland property.
The arrest relates to a number of drug importation incidents earlier this year. Further illicit drugs were seized today during the arrest.
Extradition has been approved by a Queensland Court and the man will be extradited by Tasmania Police investigators to Hobart on Wednesday.
