Tasmania Police will tomorrow (October 21, 2014) take over policing of the Hobart International Airport from the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

Assistant Commissioner Donna Adams said:
“In the lead up to the withdrawal of AFP, we have developed plans for providing a response service for any issues requiring police attendance.

“Officers from Bellerive Division have undertaken familiarisation training and specialist groups have conducted onsite training within the airport precinct.

“We are well prepared to resume policing responsibilities associated with the airport.”
