Tasmania Police Charity Trust bike ride
A group of Tasmanian police officers set off from Launceston this morning for a gruelling three-day bike ride to raise money for Camp Quality.
About 50 riders are taking part in the ride, which will cover more than 400 kilometres and finish in Hobart on Sunday.
It’s the fourth year the Tasmania Police Charity Bike Ride has been held, with proceeds going to a different charity each year. The Police Charity Trust raises money particularly for young people and children in need.
This year riders hope to raise $30,000 for Camp Quality, which is a not for profit organisation that believes in building resilience in the lives of every child living with cancer and their families.
Riders left the Launceston this morning and will make their way to Hobart via the East Coast.
Donations can be made at any Tasmania Police station or during break stops during the ride. Donations over $2 are tax deductable.
