Tasmania Fire Service Volunteer assaulted at Primrose Sands

A 58 year old Primrose Sands man has been charged with assault following an incident on a Total Fire Ban day.

 

At 8pm on Sunday 24th January 2016 Tasmania Fire Service were called out to a Primrose Sands address regarding an open fire on a Total Fire Ban day.

 

The volunteer crew attended the address and approached a man requesting the fire to be extinguished.  It was the second time authorities had attended the address in consecutive days.

 

A 50 year old fire officer was assaulted during the attendance.  No medical attention was required due to the minor nature of the assault.

 

The 58 year old man was charged and bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at later date.
