Taskforce Saturate – 73 people charged in 25 days with 342 offences
Tasmania Police’s Taskforce Saturate continues to target repeat offenders with the aim of making our community safer.
Acting Commander John Toohey of Southern District said “at the start of September, Taskforce Saturate was bolstered with four additional officers, with one clear objective, to deal with as many repeat offenders as possible.”
“In just 25 days, Taskforce Saturate has charged 73 people, with 342 charges being laid against these repeat offenders.”
“The resulting charges include aggravated assault, robbery, aggravated burglary, assault, breach of bail, firearm offences, drug offences, family violence offences, dangerous driving, evade police, disqualified driving and disorderly behaviour.”
“The dedicated efforts of the taskforce members, have yielded impressive results.”
“Tasmania Police will continue to prioritise the safety and security of our community, targeting these repeat offenders, and when lawful, put them before the court,” he said.
Taskforce Saturate remains committed to its ongoing efforts to reduce recidivism and enhance community safety, with the Taskforce ongoing.
