Tas Fire Service Equipment Stolen

At around 2.30pm on Saturday 9 January 2016 the Tasmanian Fire Service attended a grass fire at Dover Street, Mowbray.

During efforts to extinguish the fire, a standpipe and hose were deployed on Dover Street.

Whilst fire crews were attending to the fire the standpipe and hose have been stolen.

The theft of the standpipe and hose hindered fire crew’s attempts to control the grass fire on a day of challenging conditions.

A witness reported that three youths were seen running from the area with the stolen items.

Police are calling for assistance from the local community in return of the stolen items and identifying the people responsible.

Any information can be passed onto Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
