On Monday the 27/10/2014 at approximately 10:15pm Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service were called to attend a structure fire on the Arthur highway Taranna.

On arrival the premise was found to be well alight. Fire crews from Port Arthur, Eaglehawk Neck and Dunalley attended and fought the fire.

Police and fire crews remained at the scene overnight and investigations are continuing.

The occupants of the residence were evacuated prior to emergency service arriving at the scene and no persons were injured.

The property was destroyed as a result; the fire damage is estimated at approximately $300,000.
