At approximately 11:40pm on Tuesday 4^th September 2012, a structure fire occurred at Les Walkden Enterprises which is situated at 69 Hamilton Road, New Norfolk.

The office and dining area was entered and multiple fires were started. It appears some sort of flammable liquid was used in the incident.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and the premises sustained damage estimated at $50,000.

Bellerive Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the fire with the assistance of Police Forensics and Tasmania Fire Service. The fire is being investigated in conjunction with a recent incident involving damage to 2 excavators and a logging skidder also owned by Les Walkden Enterprises. Damage to the machinery occurred at a logging coupe approximately 12 kilometres south of Butlers Gorge in the Central Highlands overnight on Saturday 1^st September 2012.  

From investigations conducted, investigators are following a specific line of enquiry. The attacks on the business do not appear to be linked to any kind of protest activity.
