Approximately 1am on Saturday 18 February 2017, emergency services were called to a structure fire at 17 Goodwins Road, Clarendon Vale. The fire was extinguished but caused extensive damage to the inside of the house estimated to be approximately $100,000 in damage.

The house is owned by Mission Australia and was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The investigation showed that the fire was suspicious and the offender(s) have set the fire inside one of the rooms at the back of the house.

A number of youths were seen by witnesses running away from the scene at the time of the fire.
