At 5.45am on Friday 10th September 2010, Police and Tasmania Fire Service were called to attend a house fire at Farnham Court, Glenorchy.

The single female occupant was alerted by a neighbour and removed to safety before the fire was partially extinguished by the neighbour. Tasmania Fire Service subsequently attended and assisted in extinguishing the fire.

The fire is being treated as suspicious at this time. The contents of the building were not insured, although working smoke alarms were fitted.

Approximately $50,000 damage was caused to the residence which is owned by Housing Tasmania.
