Around 3:40am on Monday 5 December 2016, emergency services were called to a fire in Fisher Drive Herdsmans Cove.  Members of the Bridgewater Fire Brigade attended and were able to extinguish the fire. The property was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

A fire scene examination was conducted by members of the Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police. As a result of the examination police believe the fire at the property was deliberately lit.

Police are urging anyone with any information about the fire to anonymously contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Constable Brooke Johnson, Bridgewater C.I.B on 6268 4103.

The property was privately owned and damage is estimated at $130,000.
