About 7.50am on the 13/3/19 police attended a house fire at 68 Goulburn Street, West Hobart.

Tasmania Fire Service were in attendance, and the fire deemed to be suspicious.  Extensive damage was caused to the unoccupied residence.  There were no injuries to any person resulting from the house fire.

Police identified a number of witnesses, and at 8.55am arrested a 23 year old male a short distance from the house fire.  The male was held for investigation, and subsequently charged with Arson.  He was remanded to appear in the Hobart Magistrate Court.

Police are appealing for any additional witnesses to the house fire.
