At around 7am today, 11/1/15 police attended a report of a small fire at a unit on  Pioneer Parade, Ravenswood.

The unit was not occupied at the time (tenants not home).

The fire was believed to be deliberately set in a back room of the residence.  The small fire caused smoke, and a neighbour notified Tas Fire Service.

The fire was contained, and is estimated to have caused around $10,000 in damage (largely through smoke damage).

Forensic police and fire scene examiners attended the scene.  Investigations are continuing.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
