About 8:30am on Tuesday 13 March two young girls, 11 and 9 years, were walking to school near Penna Roadand Brady Streets, Midway Point, when they were approached by a male driving a small older style black hatch vehicle.

The male spoke with the girls and asked if they wanted a lift.  The girls politely refused his request and continued on their journey.

The male is described as approximately 30 years of age, with a shaved head, dark moustache and was wearing glasses. 

There have been no other reports of similar activity in this area.

Police would like to praise the girls for their actions in responding to the male indicating they are clearly aware of how to deal with strangers.

Police have increased patrols in the area and are investigating the incident and request members of the public to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if they have any information.
