Hobart CIB has concluded the investigation into a suspicious item located in Liverpool Street, Hobart, on Monday 9 August 2010.

Due to concerns over the item, the area was isolated, contained and the suspicious item cleared by members of the Bomb Response Group.

Police are now of the opinion that the item was not placed with any intent to cause a nuisance or harm to the public in any way, but was the discarded internal speaker mechanism from an audible child’s toy.

Police would like to thank the members of the public who reported the suspicious item as such vigilance assists with public safety.
