About 12:10hrs on Saturday 10 October 2010 the Tasmania Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Shipstern Bluff, on the Tasman Peninsula.

This was to rescue a 26 year old man who had received injuries as a result of being smashed on the rocks, whilst surfing.

The male was winched into the helicopter and flown to Hobart in a satisfactory condition.
