At approximately 9.15am this morning, Monday 8th December 2014, police were called to King Island Airport to a report of an accident.

A 28 year old man from the North West Coast had fallen about six metres from the platform he was working on and was transported to the King Island Hospital.

Unfortunately the man died from his injuries.

Police attended the scene and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

WorkSafe Tasmania, in conjunction with Tasmania Police, will conduct an investigation into the accident.
