Sudden Death – 58 year old male at Roaring Beach Nubeena
At approximately 1:15pm Police and Tasmania Ambulance Service were called to a report of a male person unconscious at Roaring Beach Nubeena.
Emergency services attended the location along with the Westpac Police rescue helicopter.
A 58yo male from Hobart and his partner had got into difficulty whilst swimming at the location.
The male person was removed from the water by other members of the public who commenced CPR.
The male was treated at the scene by paramedics in an attempt to revive him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The female was treated at the scene for shock and released.
A report is being completed for the coroner.
Police urge all beach users over the summer period to be aware of changing beach conditions, swim in safe locations and consider their swimming ability before entering the water.
