Approximately 5:50pm on Sunday 1^st March, Tasmanian Fire Service & Tasmania Police responded to a structure fire at Sorell Street, Bridgewater.

On arrival the unit was fully engulfed by fire.  The occupants of the address were absent at the time of the fire.  Early indications suggest that the fire was deliberately lit, damage is estimated to be in the vicinity of $200,000.

Detectives from Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch have conducted enquiries into this matter  and as a result have arrested a 42 year old man from Primrose Sands in the south of the state.

The man and will appear before the Magistrates court on 3rd March 2015.
