At approximately 12:20am, Thursday 8^th November 2012, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) responded to a unit fire at Pioneer Parade, Ravenswood.  The unit was totally engulfed on their arrival, sustaining extensive damage, before Tas Fire could extinguish it.

The unit is the property of Housing Tasmania and is currently tenanted but was unoccupied at the time.  The damage to the unit is estimated to be approximately $130,000.

 At this stage the cause of the fire has not been determined as a full fire examination by Police and Tas Fire has not yet been conducted.
