At 9:15pm on Friday 17 January 2014; Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police attended a structure fire at 94 Arthur Street, East Launceston.

The fire started in a rear bedroom of the residence and was detected by neighbors. The fire was contained to that room. The residence was being occupied, however no one was home at  the time of the fire. The house was undergoing renovations.

Investigations conducted by Tasmania Fire Service deemed that the fire was not suspicious. The residence sustained moderate damage.
