Stolen vehicle parts recovered from Huon River
Police have recovered cut up parts of a chassis and other parts which had been dumped in the Huon River at Franklin.
Investigations confirm the recovered car parts belong to the stolen Commodore which has been cut up with a grinder or similar tool.
On Friday 17 June a red 2008 Holden HSV GTS Commodore sedan with registration plates SV 0000 was stolen from a Sandy Bay property.
Police are appealing for any information that may relate to any suspicious activity seen in and around the rowing club at Franklin between 17-21 June 2016.
In particular police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen a vehicle or trailer that had red and black parts of a cut up chassis and car parts in it or anyone who recalls hearing prolonged periods of grinding or cutting noises where it may not ordinarily be expected.
