Police are searching for a person of interest following a dangerous driving and evade incident in the greater Hobart area today.

A stolen grey BMW SUV was reportedly seen driving dangerously in the Montrose area shortly after 11am, before evading police and travelling to the Hobart waterfront.

The vehicle, believed to be driven by a man, then travelled at speed towards Blackmans Bay before being located by police in the Kingston area.

The man has not yet been located.

Multiple units, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, have been used in the search.

Anyone with information about the man’s whereabouts, or who has dashcam or other footage of the car, is asked to contact police on 131 444.
