Stealing from Police Compound (28 Dec)
Tasmania Police are investigating a motor vehicle stealing that occurred around 11.15pm on Saturday 28 December 2013. The vehicle was stolen from the Tasmania Police vehicle compound at Patrick Street, Hobart.
The vehicle has been driven at speed into the perimeter gates, with one gate being flung out onto Patrick Street. The damage to the fence and gates is significant. From examinations at the scene, the stolen vehicle appears to have been targeted and there is no evidence that other vehicles have been tampered with.
Tasmania Police are seeking assistance from the public to locate a 1988 Nissan Patrol, registered number C39FY. The Patrol has a white cab and black tray and has a hydraulic lift mounted on the rear of the tray (driver’s side). It also had oxy-acetylene bottles strapped to the rear of the cab.
