State Service employee charged re unauthorised access to a computer

 

Tasmania Police charged a 34-year-old Hobart woman with ‘unauthorised access to a computer’

It is alleged the woman, a Tasmanian Government employee, unlawfully accessed personal information held on a national motor vehicle database and released that information to unauthorised persons for financial gain.

Tasmania Police commenced the investigation in March this year and the charge relates to access of records over several years.

The woman was bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on the 20 September 2021.
