Glenorchy and Bellerive CIB officers have charged a 28 year old Rokeby man with a series of business burglaries across Southern District, including two burglaries at the Star and Garter Hotel, New Norfolk.

It’s alleged the man stole bags of coins from the Star and Garter Hotel on two occasions in June 2014.

The man was arrested north of Bagdad on the Midlands Highway yesterday afternoon.

He has been charged with:

• Burglary x11
• Stealing x11
• Aggravated burglary x2
• Attempted aggravated burglary x2
• Motor vehicle stealing x3
• Attempt to unlawfully set fire to property
• Evade police.

He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.
