A 51 year old man has appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court charged with murder after the death of a 37 year old man on Sunday.

At approximately 1.45am on Sunday 13 May 2012 Launceston police were called to a report of a disturbance involving two males, one allegedly being stabbed with a knife at a private residence in Kings Meadows.

37 year old Darren John Booth of Kings Meadows died at the scene.

The man has been remanded to reappear at a later date.
