A man has been charged after a baby presented to the Launceston General Hospital yesterday.

Police attended the hospital about 1pm Saturday where the baby was being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

A 21-year-old St Leonards man has been charged with criminal code assault and bailed on strict conditions to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
