About 0145hrs today, 22nd March 2015, the Westpac Rescue Police Helicopter was activated by Tasmania Police to rescue a young man who had fallen down a cliff on Spectacle Island at Dodges Ferry and sustained head injuries.

A flight paramedic and police rescue crew were placed onto the island before the patient was treated and winched into the helicopter.

The man was then flown to Hobart in a stable condition.
