Polcie are investigating a space of car burglaries at the University of Tasmania Newnham campus.

At around 01:11hrs police were called to attend the University Campus at Newnham due to a large number of vehicles that had been broken into. These vehicles were in various areas of the carpark.

A short time later at 01:17hrs police were made aware that two vehicles had been also broken into at the Alanvale Road Tafe Campus.

Police are requesting anyone who discover that their vehicle had been entered to immediately contact Launceston Police.

Police are also seeking any witnesses to come forward who may have observed a grey Mazda Bravo Utility in the area at the time of the burglaries in Newnham or Mowbray. The Utility had a distinctive noisy exhaust system.
