Southern Outlet crashes Launceston
Tasmania Police attended three separate motor vehicle crashes which occurred on the Southern Outlet, Launceston on Thursday 6 June 2013.
The three crashes occurred within twenty minutes of each other with the first, a three vehicle crash occurring at 7:30am in the south bound lanes followed by a two vehicle and a further three vehicle crash in the north bound lanes.
As a result of the crashes several occupants involved were conveyed to the Launceston General Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries. One north bound lane was closed for approximately an hour with traffic diverted.
The cause of the crashes is attributed to the wet conditions and drivers failing to allow for the conditions. Drivers are reminded to slow down on wet roads, drive to the conditions and increase the distance between themselves and other vehicles travelling in front.
