A 44-year-old Somerset man has been charged in relation to an incident at Ocean Vista on 5th August 2010.

Police will allege that the man approached a youth on the street and demanded goods and money while brandishing a knife. The youth was able to escape without loss and no one was injured in the incident.

Detectives from Burnie Criminal Investigation Branch charged the man late yesterday and he has been bailed to appear in the court at a later date.

“This is an unusual incident to occur in Somerset,” said Detective Murray. “I thank the public for their assistance in this matter”.
