Smithton man charged with wounding
A Smithton man aged in his forties has been charged in relation to a wounding incident that occurred in King Street, Smithton. The man has been charged with:
Wounding x 1
Firearm and minor drug offences.
On Wednesday the 13th of December 2023, Police responded to a wounding incident which occurred in King Street, Smithton.
The western Criminal Investigation Branch investigated the incident which resulted in the arrest of a Smithton Man.
The man has been charged, detained in custody, and will appear later today at the Burnie Magistrates Court.
Detective Acting Sergeant Jeremy Williams stated,
“We would like to re-assure the community that this is an isolated incident and both parties were known to each other”.
“We would encourage any member of the Smithton community that witnessed the incident or has information regarding the incident to come forward”.
