Smithton burglaries resolved
Overnight on 6-7 September 2010, two businesses in the Smithton area were entered with a number of items being stolen. During the same period of time a box trailer was taken from Poke Street, Smithton.
Police executed a number of searches on Thursday 9 September and Friday 10 September, recovering property in relation to the above burglaries, including the box trailer. Also recovered was a Honda motorcycle reported stolen from the Smithton area on 5 September 2010.
A 22 year old Devonport man has been charged with 4 counts of burglary, 4 counts of stealing, one count of attempted stealing and one count of unlawful possession in relation to these matters. He has been bailed to appear in court at a later date.
A second motorcycle, a blue and white Yamaha, stolen from the Stanley area on the night of the 6th September 2010 has not yet been recovered.
