Single vehicle fatal crash Wilmot Road Forth

Around 11.30am on Saturday 15 September 2018 emergency services responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Wilmot Road, Forth.

Once at the scene police located a male person inside a 1999 Holden sedan which had collided with armco railing. The male person was deceased upon their arrival.

Initial enquiries indicate the driver was travelling north on Wilmot Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the railing. The cause of the crash is still under investigation however it is believed the slippery road conditions may have contributed to the crash.

The deceased is a 77 year old man from the Wilmot area.

Police from Ulverstone, Devonport, Latrobe, Western Forensics and Western Crash Investigation Services attended the scene along with Tas Fire Service, SES and Tas Ambulance.

Anyone who saw this vehicle travelling on Wilmot Road between 11am and 11,.30am is encouraged  to contact Tasmania Police.

Police urge all drivers to drive to the conditions by adjusting your speed that is safe for the road and weather conditions.
