At 6pm on Thursday 10th March 2016, a pink Toyota Camry station wagon, driven by a French female national, was involved in a single vehicle crash on the West Tamar Highway at Sidmouth. The vehicle lost control in wet conditions following a sweeping left hand bend prior to the Spring Hill Road intersection.

At the time of the crash the vehicle contained 4 occupants. As a result of the crash a 25 year old female from the United Kingdom received fatal injuries and died at the scene. Tasmania Police are contuining investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash, however early indications suggest wet road conditions and a failure to wear seatbelts have been contributing factors.

Police would like to hear from anyone that may have observed this vehicle  on the West Tamar Highway prior the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
