Single vehicle fatal crash, Bruny Island
At 4pm on Monday 2nd March 2015 Police were notified of a motor vehicle crash on Bruny Island Main Road towards Dennes Point. A white Ford Falcon travelling north east appeared to have lost control on the gravel road and collided with a tree.
The driver, a 27 year old Taiwanese man and his Taiwanese female passenger were both trapped in the vehicle. Once extricated they were conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by helicopter. The man’s condition was reported as serious.
A short time after arrival at the Hospital, the man died as a result of the injuries sustained .
Bruny Island Police along with Crash Investigation Services assessed the scene and investigations are still ongoing. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
Anyone who may have observed a white 1999 Ford Falcon Station Wagon, Queensland registration 699-TFB travelling on Bruny Island Main Road prior to 4PM is asked to contact Bruny Island Police 03 6293 2090 .
