Single Vehicle Crash Bass Highway, Burnie
At about 7.50pm on Sunday the 13th December 2015 police attended a single vehicle crash on the Bass Highway, Burnie west of the Old Surrey Road intersection.
A 1974 Black Mercedes sedan which had been travelling west on The Bass Highway towards Burnie left the road colliding with an Aurora power. The sole male driver of the vehicle was trapped and had to be extracted by rescue crews from Tasmania Fire Service and Ambulance Tasmania. He was then transported to the North West Regional Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The Highway was closed to traffic for three hours.
The crash is being investigated by Senior Constable Sven MASON of Crash Investigation Services.
