On Wednesday 7 September 2016 at approximately 10.30am members of Western Drug Investigation Services attended an address situated at a private residence in LiaLeah, on the North West Coast of Tasmania.  Police executed a drug related search warrant and seized cannabis plants and cannabis product with an approximate street value of $2.3 million dollars.  Police also seized a large sum of money at the premises.

A 52 year old man was interviewed by police in relation to the drug related items seized and he will be charged with Trafficking in a controlled substance and has been bailed to the Burnie Magistrates Court at a later date.
