Shoplifters caught
Two women aged 33 and 22 years old have been charged by Hobart CIB Detectives today with allegedly stealing in excess of $3600 worth of property from Hobart retailers.
It’s alleged the women stole items from Kathmandu on 12 August and Myer on 29 June, including 6 goose down puffer jackets and designer handbags.
“Investigations are continuing into a third burglary and stealing from Mountain Design in Hobart on 12 August 2013. On that occasion, $5,500 worth of goose down puffer jackets were stolen,” Detective Acting Inspector Craig Joel said.
Acting Inspector Joel thanked the business community for providing information and CCTV surveillance footage which helped identify the alleged offenders.

The arrests were the outcome of diligent investigative work by detectives and uniform personnel.
The women were charged with stealing and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
