At about midnight on Thursday, 12^th July 2012, a 36 year old male was assaulted near parkland which is situated at the eastern end of Castlemain Road, Ravenswood.  During the assault the male was shot in the lower leg.

The male was treated at the scene and taken to the Launceston General Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery for the injury to his leg.

Launceston CIB is currently investigating the matter and would ask for any person who witnessed the incident or who may have information concerning the matter to contact them on 6336 3915 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
