Shooting incident Chigwell and Cigarette burglary at Bridgewater
Shooting incident at Tootonga Street, Chigwell
Glenorchy CIB is investigating a shooting incident in Chigwell overnight where several bullets were discharged into a residence.
Just before midnight a firearm was discharged outside a Tootonga Street house with several bullets passing through a front bedroom window causing damage.
The sole occupant of the house, a 44-year-old woman, was uninjured.
Police are treating the shooting as a targeted attack and are following particular lines of enquiry including the possibility there was a dispute between the woman and a group of people in Glenorchy earlier in the day.
A small dark coloured car was seen in the street may have been used by the offenders.

Cigarette burglary at Cove Hill Fair, Bridgewater
Bridgewater CIB is investigating a cigarette burglary at Bridgewater this morning after offenders forced entry into the Cove Hill Fair shopping centre.
Just before 5:00am several men broke into a shop in Cove Hill Fair after using tools to force a glass door open. Two men went inside the shop while another man stood watch.
A dark coloured car was used by the offenders to flee but wasn’t used to ram the shop.
A car was later recovered burnt out in Maxwell Drive in Bridgewater. The car was completely destroyed and it has not been determined whether it was the one used in the cigarette burglary or the shooting incident at Chigwell overnight.
The offenders have been described as:
- Offender 1 – approximately 185-190cm, solid build, black puffer jacket with hood, black track pants with white ‘Everlast’ motif down left leg, bright blue sandshoes, light coloured gloves, face covered with bandana or something similar.
- Offender 2 – approximately 180cm, skinny build, black runners (possibly Nike motif near toe), black puffer jacket no hood, black hooded top under puffer, dark track pants, face covered with bandana or similar and grey gloves.
- Offender 3 – approximately 175cm, stocky build, royal blue gloves, light grey track pants, black puffer jacket with black hood, face covered with black bandana.
