Shooting Incident at Lilydale Road Update
About 1.30 pm yesterday Police were called to a private address in Lilydale Road at Rocherlea as a result of a report of a man being shot in the leg. Upon arrival police confirmed that a man in his 20s had received a non life threatening injury to his leg in the vicinity of his knee.
At this stage a number of witnesses and persons of interest have been spoken to but no one has been charged at this time. Police have also door knocked the immediate area. Of possible interest is a white Commodore station wagon that may have been in the area at the time and could have travelled north on the East Tamar Highway at high speed after the event.

Police would like to reassure the public this incident occurred in a private shed at a private residence between individuals known to each other. Police believe the risk to the public in this matter is minimal but can assure everyone that we are doing everything within our power to put a stop to the recent incidences of firearm related incidents.
