Shooting – Clarendon Vale

Bellerive Detectives are investigating an overnight shooting in the Eastern Shore Suburb of Clarendon Vale.

Approximately 1.45am on Saturday 20 October 2012, police were notified that a male had been shot at an address in Clarendon Vale.  Police and Ambulance personnel responded to the incident and established that a 15 year old youth had been shot in the abdomen by a male with a shotgun.

Bellerive Uniform Police attended and identified the location of the suspect, a 42 year old male from Clarendon Vale.  Police spoke with the suspect who was arrested without incident.  Attending police isolated the scene and the firearm allegedly used in the shooting was located.

The injuries sustained by the youth are not believed to be life threatening.  He is undergoing surgery.

Police can indicate the incident was not a random attack and both parties were involved in an altercation prior to the shooting.

Detectives will interview the suspect today and charges are expected to be laid.
